Description: Moderately elongate fishes with 177-216 lateral line pores and verte-brae. Upper jaw much longer than lower jaw; tips of jaws slightly expanded. Anterior nostril tubular in unripe specimens. Anus well posterior to pectoral fins. See family for biology, etc.
