Description:Body circular in cross-section at front; long head; a low skin ridge on side of snout forward of eye; very small eye; rear nostril slit-like, just before and above eye; front nostril round with raised rim; mouth short, with a pair of fleshy folds on its roof; papillae on upper lip in front of front nostril; tail long (~75% of total length); gill opening crescent shaped; no pectoral fins; no lateral line pores on side; dorsal and anal fins very reduced, more exposed just before tail; dorsal fin origin near gill opening.
